It’s been awhile since I posted to the blog. I presented my purple team training to my coworkers. I thought things went ok. I Ran into some hiccups, but it was a good practice run. I took some good notes, and plan to host another session in the future.
Other than web app scans at work, I took a break from offsec, and have been devoting time to making Defcon conference add-on’s (and badges). The #badgelife hobby has always intrigued me. I think I’m just a sucker for blinking LEDs and PCB boards. It’s been a lot of trial and error, but I recently produced 150 #badgelife shitty add-on’s. I choose to continue AND!XOR’s bender/futurama theme, and created add-on’s for their (and other) badges. After posting progress pics on twitter, people showed interest and asked if they could obtain these before the conference. I decided to make a few extra and think it would be awesome to see others wearing my add-on’s at defcon 🙂
My add-on’s/badges only have blinking LEDs. I am by no means even a novice in electronic schematics and pcb design. I know what designs I like, and hope other like them as well. I plan to make a small run of AND!XOR tribute badges for the conference, and will provide updates closer to the conference.
So far, the #badgelife community has been great, and very supportive of a noob like myself. Next year, my goal is to make a badge with a screen and controllable LED patterns. Baby steps for now, but who knows what I’ll learn at DC. I’m looking forward to it!
