My name is Elliot Pfarr. I’m a Senior Security Analyst at The University of California San Diego’s Supercomputer Center. I operate our vulnerability management, threat hunting and threat intelligence programs which identify and mitigate risk within our researcher, compliance and colo environments.

I’m also a Splunk Engineer and focus my efforts on configuring Splunk as a SIEM. I assist other security analysts and system admins in the creation of dashboards, alerts, reports, and help them develop a better workflow with their data.

In August 2020, my Splunk team placed 1st in the Higher-Education BOTS competition. We also placed 1st in the San Diego BOTN competition (2019), and 3rd in the North American BOTS(2020).

I have a security focused YouTube Channel under Sqearl Salazar.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, camping, astrophotography, attending infosec cons and playing guitar.
